Anyone else just get a PM without a title (and thus unable to be read) sent on 07:00 PM 12-31-1969? Can't open it or do anything to it.

It is probably cause the guy who sent it got banned... It was a porn link.

Yeah, I deleted all the porn messages quick-n-dirty in the database, hoping as few people as possible would have to see them, but that left pointers in your inboxes to where the messages used to be. I'll try to clean up the inconsistency soon.

Interesting. How come the date it was sent (supposedly) shows up at all? Does Vbulletin's script attach a default date to something it can't find/doesn't have a date entry for?

The date and the message data are in different tables. vB's admin tools aren't too great at mass-edits like that and Sancho had to work under the hood without knowing where all the various references were.
The message itself was a bunch of denuded gay men pretending to be excited by a gangly, breastless prostitute in some undersized clothes leftover from the 80s.

Interesting. I wonder why the two are kept separate, when they both logically make sense being part of the same entity table.

If it helps, think about how a forum tracks that sort of thing anyway, and then how someone writing a forum would handle a single message with multiple recipients.

So associate through a relation with multiple users and have the time be when a particular user has received it? I guess I didn't really think about it that way.

You guys think about stuff way too much...

Yeah, it's separate for CCs far as I know.

The funny date comes from converting a null to a date-time. Unix date-time starts at midnight 1/1/1970. Add in your time zone offset and it will be a few hours before midnite on 12/31/69.
