Oh I have no doubt. The Steam sale nearly got me. I just usually play games a year behind the curve. I picked up Fallout New Vegas for five bucks the other day, for example.

it keeps crashing on me, i can't get more than 5 minutes of game play. I think my graphics card is the issue.

Try it in window'ed mode Grey! I had similar issues and that fixed mine.

I know I'm behind the power curve in this game, I started playing about 2 weeks ago. I'm level 47, and really haven't seemed to scratch the surface on this game yet. Question I have is, can you get all the perks when you level up? There is a ton of them and I'm regretting not maxing out shield, 1hndr, most magic etc. My alchemy sucks sucks too. WTF so many different ways to improve the character, but not enough xp to get them all. Can you play another play through to get the rest? Or, will I knock most of them out finishing the game. I'm staying away from the main plot quests.

You won't even be close to all the perks at max level. Max level is level 80/81, so that many perk points to spend.
You will need 3 play throughs with max characters to sample them all, but of course if you do that, there will be perks on your second and third play through that are very valuable that you would have to bypass. The two most over powered perk trees are Enchanting and Smithing. If you max both of those out, the equipment you can make completely trivializes the game. |

I haven't touched Enchanting...maxed out Smithing though and made the dragon armor with the Daedric weapons. How do you build that enchanting skill up, seems to take forever.. There an easy way, like Smithing? At level 47, it's not too late to max it out.

Working on smithing and enchanting at the same time was the way to go. Make daggers, get the cheapest two soul gems with souls in them. Enchant the daggers. Sell the daggers. If you buy the two soul gems from a merchant, then rest for 48 hours and check the same merchant again for more gems. If you just use the two cheapest soul gems and daggers, you will even make a small profit.
You will probably raise mercantile a few points too. This sucks though... Talking Skyrim just pisses me off. My 350+ hour character is bugged only needing 4 more trophies for platinum. I can't finish the Civil War quest line one quest from the end due to bugs. I'd never platinumed a game before Skyrim, and I was so close. Their buggy PS3 port was an arrow to my knee. My character will be perpetually level 77... Though now, I have actually platinumed a game. I quit Skyrim right around patch 1.4 to play Final Fantasy XIII-2, and what do you know, I platinumed it. Currently I'm playing Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Been playing it for two weeks, and though I had a hard time getting into it, I am having a bunch of fun with it right now. It seems like a cross between say Diablo, Champions of Norrath, and Skyrim. The combat is kinda sorta like God of War, and the graphics are very WoWish. I am about 60ish hours in (including large amounts of pause time). My character is level 25, and I don't think I've skipped any quests. There are a couple task quests that I haven't completed, but I've been very thorough so far. The best thing about KoA after playing Skyrim? I haven't had one hard crash of my PS3 since I quit playing Skyrim. That includes doing basically EVERYTHING in Final Fantasy XIII-2 and 60ish hours of KoA. Skyrim was going to kill my PS3 hard crashing a few times a day. After KoA, I have a few other games to play through (Batman: Arkham City, Fallout: New Vegas, the 2 game PS3 port of the PS handheld God of War games). Eventually I'll go back to Skyrim when they are done patching it, and it's in as good of shape as they'll get it for the PS3. I'll start over and work through the Civil War quest before I do anything else, so I can get that trophy. I don't know if my next play through will be nearly as thorough as my first attempt. I don't know if I have another 300 hours in me to play that game. The frustration from that game may have trumped all the fun I admittedly had playing it. Skyrim for the PS3 is the buggiest game I've played since Daggerfall. I should have learned my lesson 15 years ago with that game, but I've been a glutton for Bethesda/Elder Scrolls bugginess for a decade and a half now. I GUARANTEE that I won't buy the Elder Scrolls 6 on release day. I'm not that foolish after this experience. This was the first time I tried an Elder Scrolls on a console, and that won't happen again either. AHHHHHH I'm getting pissed off just writing this post. |

Playstation 4 should be out the end of the year to fix all the crashing bugs and hardware issues. It's suppose to be a beast and backwards compatable, I just REALLY hope that it plays 3D Blue Rays.
Let me ask, cause I'm a newb at console games still, what is the benefit of 'Platinuming' a game? Not that I'm patient enough to do it. You should try Dark Souls too, that game was outstanding, albeit difficult on the first playthrough. I'm going to play ME3 when I finish Skyrim, hopefully it's less crash inducing. I crash after several hours of play in Skyrim, not too bad I guess. One more Skyrim question, I'm fighting (semi succesfully) dragons with 1hndr and shield bashing. Rarely use my shouts, cause they don't seem very effective except to stun when they shout at me from the sky. Where or how so I get the second ranks for all these shouts? I found a bunch of shouts, but only the Greybeards allowed me to upgrade 1 of them. Kinda irritating. The dragons keep killing my horses too, that's irritating. Poor Frost. ![]() |
