Earlier than I thought. I figured by week 8.
Hope you made that trade Saragon! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/column...len&id=2181151

Poor kid. His first NFL game gets to be against the Indy pass rush.

Wow that happened fast. Hope he was a quick learn. Someone should tell him and the right side of his OLine to watch for this guy called Freeney.
![]() They are going to feed him to the wolves trying to salvage their season. |

The more I think about this decision, the less I understand it. Rattay did have an offgame last week, but he performed exceptionally in week 1 and decently against the cowboys in week 3. Additionally, most of the reports I've seen about Smith characterize him as "underperforming".
I hope he doesn't wind up in the Ryan Leaf bin. |

I didn't figure they had a shot at the next few games with Rattay. Their answer is to put a new QB in the position of Carr where he'll be bludgeoned his first games out. Seems kinda like throwing someone in a lake to teach em to swim.
Starting him this game is a REALLY bad idea. He's gonna get beaten up and blown out. His confidence will be shattered. If they keep him there the next few games as well, it will only get worse. They would have been better off starting him from the begining of the season, or not till after midseason IMO. While I think he isn't as good as a number one pick, this looks like a roadmap to ruin a prospect.

They should have Carson Palmered him.
Too bad it will take forever to develop, but I think he will head down R Leaf lane. Too bad, I'd like to see more quality QBs in the game, and if it means another loosing season to solidify the future SF probably should have kept him on the bench. Hopefully he proves me wrong and is a phenom and performs well, but not many can just jump into the pro level and be a solid stable performer. |

It's hard to say what might happen. Eli looked like crap last year but seems to be coming out of it.
I can't help but remember the commentators during last weeks game talk about how glad they were to see him on the sideline and how Smith basically said he was glad he wasn't starting this year. Time will tell. |

He was probably quoting the party line but I bet he is serious about it after Sunday. ![]()

I thought long and hard about picking up Mccown but I figure he won't last once Warner comes back. Colts don't have a bye till week 8 and I figure Warner will be back in 7 or 8 since they have a bye in week 6. Gives him time to rest up. I'll take a chance with Smith even though he has a rough schedule coming up the next 3 weeks.
