Haven't seen a playing aid post in quite a while, but, I leave for a few months, come back, and still see the same errors over and over and over again...
So here's a couple things i'd like to point out. Parking. When more than one mob is coming to the party, it helps if not all of them are beating on your party members. All classes with root should know the basics of parking....i.e. moving a mob away from the rest of the party, and rooting it. Paladins in particular! Gaining aggro of all the side mobs via planting an early heal on the puller, and then parking the adds in a safe place IS THE REASON YOU GET ADDED TO GROUPS. Ok, that and stunning gating mobs. They don't need a self healing low damage warrior. For everyone else, sometimes it's just easier to root one of the mobs in the middle of the gaggle. When such a mob is rooted, and the rooter mentions this fact in group chat, all the melee types ought to move away from the rooted mob, dragging the unrooted mob away from it. No, really. It makes sense, I swear! Pull rate. Unless the casters are screaming, the proper pull rate invoves having one mob getting a beating, and a second mob getting prepped for beating via mez/root/slow/debuff. If your party is waiting for mobs to come between kills, you are pulling too slowly. A cleric who heals a puller to 100% health is indicating he is ready for pulls. (this is a message for both pullers AND clerics! saves typing!). Note, when shit just hit the fan last pull, it's probably not a good idea to try that dangerous pull next, better to do the easy kill first. Necros....don't heal em unless they scream. In most cases, they don't need clarity either. They will bitch at you if you give them clarity or healing when they don't want it. Bards...invis really pisses the pet casters off.... Pet casters....fluffy should be involved in every fight, not every other fight. /assist the rogue Regarding rogues....it helps if those who gain aggro for moments make a little triangle between themselves and the rogue, so the rogue stays at the backside, no matter who has aggro. Pushing mobs into corners pisses the rogue off... Basics of aggro...it pays to let the warrior build up some aggro before debuffing the hell out of the mob, unless that debuff is root.... The top bubble....a lot of classes have methods of minor healing/regen. It's never worth it for a cleric to "top off" any player's last bubble...hell, at the very least, get the benifit of their sitting regen. On the other hand, heal non tanks at 60% life, don't wait for 40%. Snare...when snared mobs run, they don't move..... snare/darkness is good. Have at least one group member with the skill. I'm sure there are other tips for basic single group tactics, but this is something you can point your friends who are just starting eq at to let them know how to play a bit better. |

You know, I'm kinda offended the only thing you could come up with for bards is to not use Selo's Song of Travel if you have a pet caster in the group ...

Pallies get added to groups for tanking since their agro is way better than a warriors, also they can rez, buff HP, stun, and backup heal. I've never seen a group pick a pally because they needed a CC class. |

You Sir, have no clue what a Paladin is here for. I never CCed mobs since like 15 levels. And guess what? I could do so, but others do the job faster and more efficant then us.
Rangers, Druids, Shamans... you mostly have one of those in the group. If you don't, if you also have no chanter but a warrior to tank.. then we MAY talk about me CCing. /slap |

Actually also Necroes and Bards CC way better then we do. So that means, if we have no Druid, Shaman, Chanter, Ranger, Necro or Bard in the group and if I am not tanking (means we have a warrior) then I may think about CCing. I personally wouldn't want to be in that group at all thou, when noone can slow nor mezz or debuff.

Uhhhh... the post is not directed at the 65 with 100AA crowd guys. Get a clue. And at the lower levels he is referring to, its quite right to say that a Paladin's job is 'ghetto-mezzing'.
