Default SW:TOR server selection

About a dozen of us from Prism, old EQ guild, are working on all rolling on the same Star Wars server. Looking like PvE. Any info to make this selection easier?

From the beta, the highest pop servers are usually one name, so you might think of one of the unusual two+ name servers.

Apparently "The Leviathan" was the place to be on beta weekends. "Sword of Ajunta Pall" less so.

It'd be great if we could all get on the same server. That being said though, apparently the world PvP in this game is awesome, I'd hate to miss out on that. Anyone have any personal experience?

I have no idea which server we will be on but we have already formed an Empire and Republic guild and linked them as adversaries hoping to land on the same server. You need at least 4 pre-orders on your roster to guarantee deployment.

I have been saying from the very beginning it is likely to be one of the best games released all year - but more so for the single player and co-op play. As far as I can tell watching over Martha's shoulder, it is not really a MMO by most standards. That doesn't make it a bad, just different.

We've got about ~16 of us ex-Prism now who are all going to be picking the same server at launch, PvE, and likely the "good guy" side whatever that is. Plus a collection of RL friends, friends from other games, and the like - will likely be about 30 of us.

Getting a group this size organized is like herding cats, just hoping to get us all to land on the same server.

I don't know why everyone keeps saying this... It is like WoW in its MMO aspects... You quest (solo or with a group except for the main class storyline which you don't really want to take someone with you because they dont get any credit for it) You can do most quests Solo just like WoW. You have heroic 4 man quests and Heroic 2 man quests that you usually need another person or 3 to complete just like WoW needing other people for the harder quests. You have Flashpoints (Instances), Operations (Raids) & Warfronts (Battlegrounds).

The full voice over / cinematic quest accept/turn in system is AMAZING and makes the game feel much more like you are running missions that have purpose rather then grinding for some lifeless npc who you only learn about through reading text that most people don't read. This does not take anything away from its MMO aspects. It simply adds to it.

For some reason because of this feature people keep saying this game isn't like other MMO's in its massive multiplayer features.

I challenge you or anyone to tell me what MMO multiplayer feature this game is lacking that a game like WoW has.

Sorry to get all crazy regarding this, i just don't see why more immersion makes people think there is less MMO.

Because MMO used to be followed by RPG?

I only made it to 14, but up to then the design of the quests always made me feel like I was at the center of the story, which is a nice change from handing in stacks of gnoll fangs in Qeynos as a run of the mill grunt. Even the splash screens are customized to your toon.

I think you misunderstood my post... I love the game but am tired of people thinking it is lacking in its massive multiplayer aspects when it is not. It has just as much MMO as WoW with actual RPG.

I'm with you Jedd, when people say this I just don't get it.

RE:Guilds, I just got this today.

We're one step closer to the official launch of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™. The Pre-Launch Guild Program* will end on 12/2/11 at 11:59 p.m. CST so that guilds can be assigned to servers for Early Game Access.†

This is your last chance to:
• Make any changes to your guild
• Ensure your guild meets requirements for deployment into the game††
• Designate your guild's Allies and Adversaries
• Review pending guild application requests

Prior to Early Game Access, you will be notified by email to check the website for your guild's deployment status. For more information, please read the Guilds FAQ or contact Customer Service at www.swtor.com/support.
