Default The Children Of Hurin

Has anyone read this? Was thinking about picking it up. I know it is basically a collection of notes put together into a story by Tolkien's son, but was wondering if it is worth reading?

I read a version in Tolkien's Unfinished Tales and his History of Middle Earth series.
I'm a big fan, so I'm not too objective, but it's a beautiful bit of tragedy in the fantasy tradition. It's very Tolkien, and in the Old England prose of "Turin son of Hurin, son of Burin, son of Lurin, son of Balakdjhfhgsnanaj" - but it's a great piece of the First Age drama.

Oh, and if you haven't read anything on the First Age, do so in the Silmarillion. Fantastic read, the Middle Earth bible, if you will.
Follow that up with Unifinished Tales. Some great literature.

I lost my copy of the Silmarillion years ago when a friend traded me the third book of the Illearth Wars/Thomas Covenant series by Steven Donaldson (which prompted me to get the first two, and stalk the bookstores waiting for the final three). The friend moved out of state before we were able to return each others' books. I still have the Lord of the Rings in the bookshelves, and Unfinished Tales. Being a sucker for Tolkien's work, I will no doubt toss down the cash for this one as well.
