Default The Witcher

I didn't see this game get much press. It was on sale at a used bookstore recently, so I decided to give it a shot - it's great! The game is poorly marketed and titled, but it plays like a darker, more mature version of Fable. Story and characters are a throwback to the traditional medieval roleplaying campaign, and they pull it off nicely. Sort of a nice blending of Neverwinter Nights with Fable, if you liked either of those.

This is the first adventure game where I have wanted to explore the cities and listen to the dialog, since time in town is usually the boring part of games.

There are two version apparently, a censored US version with no nudity and a free for all European version which will run of course in the US. I noticed Newegg carries both.

It's different. I didn't like it at all when I started, but the combat is easy to get used to.

My biggest complaint is that the manual is only on the DVD, which seems to be very common these days. Pain in the ass to look up info.
