The Idaho Statesman A Boise infant died Wednesday after a mother having a hectic morning forgot to drop her child off at day care and left the baby in the car all day, Boise police reported. Temperatures in Boise had reached about 105 degrees by the time the mother discovered the child in the back seat late Wednesday afternoon, police said. The woman, whose name was not released, went to her workplace near Meeker Place and Explorer Drive in West Boise around 8 a.m., Boise police spokeswoman Deanna Lokker said. The baby remained inside the car until the mother left work about 4:45 p.m. The mother drove to the day-care center intending to pick up her child, but shortly before she reached the center she realized the infant was still in the car, Lokker said. The mother then drove the baby to St. Luke´s Meridian Medical Center, where the infant was pronounced dead. “The indications are that she was a little distracted or something,” Lokker said. The case remains under investigation. “No charges have been filed at this time because it is so preliminary,” Lokker said. The age and sex of the baby were not released late Wednesday, but Lokker said the child was less than 1 year old. Wednesday´s temperatures reached a high of 106 degrees at 5:53 p.m., the National Weather Service reports. The temperature shortly before 5 p.m. was 105 degrees. Last summer, a 53-year-old Boise man was charged with felony injury to a child after his 3-year-old son was found in a parked car while the man was grocery shopping in late June. The boy was not harmed. The outside temperature at the time was 87, but police said it was more than 100 degrees in the car. I drove by the intersection where the baby was in the car atleast three times yesterday..to work, lunch and from work.....Being the father of a 16 month old baby I cant imagine this ever happening. |

Very sad thing to hear. Incidents like this happen more than you would think. I recall hearing about similar cases in the Dallas area over the past couple of years. Hopefully it is never intentional.

I really wish they would start putting these people in prison. It is happening WAY to often.I've already read more then enough stories this year alone to think this is becoming a major problem.
I also can't comprehend HOW you forget a child is in the car.I have 2 children,10 and 18 months, and even when they've fallen asleep,I have never just forgotten about them...they are my life,I don't care how hectic it can get,how busy my life is...they are always on my mind. It's just very sad ![]() |

It takes a test to drive a car, a shitload of permits to get a gun, but any motherfucking retard can have a baby and not give a shit about it.

I have one son, he'll be 2 in about 2 weeks. I catch myself glancing at the car seat when he's not even in the car with me. I do it in any car I am in..I glance back out of habit, if nothing else, to check on him whether he's really there or not!!
When I hear about people doing this stuff...I wonder what was so wrong with the "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" way of justice. Trap their dumb ass in a hot car on a "lovely" August afternoon in Texas for 8 damn hours...with no way out...nothing to drink...just like those innocent kids. If they survive, then the courts can "handle" it. >: >: >: >: >: Dayzee JustDayzee Lvl 54 Paladin Autonomous Collective |

This kind of stuff is sickening, and it happens way too much,
About a week ago I was walking home from work, and in the parking lot, I saw an SUV with 2 kids around 2ish and 5ish years old sitting there in the back seat, was around 90+ degrees at least, and humid as hell. I really should've at least told someone about it, but I didn't, and it was on my mind for a while, luckily I don't think anything happened as it wouldv'e definately heard about it, But their parents are still stupid and unfit for going shopping and leaving their kids in the car like that . |
