Default What the hell is wrong with people?!

Why do people at work never do what you tell them too?

I've told this guy SEVERAL times to use Microsoft Outlook because it will screw up his email if he uses Microsoft Express. He continued to use Express well low and behold he continued using his damn Express and now it's screwed up his Outlook. Then he wonders why i get irritated because he doesn't listen to me.

I mean come on!!! do what i fucking tell you and i won't get pissed off!!

Make a digital photo of his face, and create a communiquee to everyone in the office with "If you dont want to screw your Outlook, dont do what Mr. X did". And explain in details.

He will listen to you next time :P

Default You have it good

I do tech support ONLINE.

This guy cannot send email to his friend. He then calls his friend across the country, has his friend log onto our support site asking me questions which in turn he will relay to his friend that is online, 1 button away from talking to me directly. /sigh.
---
This other guy comes in, gives a long winded speech about how this is broken, that is broken, this is what I tried, I need help! Then he says well now it works but I'm not sure, is there a way we can find out? /sigh he doesn't know what he wants or if it works or not.
---
customer: I need help with configuring outlook
me: open outlook please
customer: how do i do that????
me: click on start then all programs then microsoft outlook
customer: I don't have that
me: do you have outlook express there?
customer: yes
me: would you like to use it instead?
customer: instead of what????
customer: is this your first day on the job??? why do I keep getting idiots
/sigh

Some people get frustrated when they are working with technology and they take it out on the people that are trying to help them. On the other hand some people are just plain ignorant, and should not even be allowed to own a computer. I allways try to be patient with my customers and make sure they get the best customer service that I can provide to them.

Once and a while you get the guy that is in a panic because he does not know how to clear his cookies / cache, and his wife is going to be home soon. Those are allways my favorite, they have a sepcial appreciation for your assistance in deleting the naked dwarf kitten porn they just downloaded on 'accident'.

What is worse, dealing with a customer or dealing with dumbass co-employees.

Dealing with a customer because you can't show your irritation with them.

but showing anger at co-employees damages office moral and could get you repremanded, so you really cant display hostility in the workplace in any form. At leaste you shouldn't. And because you may have to also restrain yourself from co-employees you may choose to never make a polite point of correcting them if they are misinforming or unable to assist a customer and start a chain reaction where the call from the customer ends up in your lap and the customers are heated and calling you an idiot.

so is it really more frustrating to take it out on a customer that is left flapping in the breeze with his zipper down with no confidence that the problem can be resolved? The customer is pissed off and embarrased to some degree for having to repetedly call for "assistance" and not getting it. Mabe they are blinded by anger because of the delivery method of the advice that has been given to them over the course of the resolution process is not clear to them, the laymen.

How is it in your bubble?
Yeah, of course, when you are dealing with customers or co-employees, it ends up in blood, you need to vent anger, right??
Dealing with co-workers is always easier, because, well... You all go in the same direction. And at worst case, you always have a manager to report one "bad" to.

Customer is king, he's angry because he forgot for the 10th time to do that and that? Too bad for you, and deal with it. Why shouldn't you be able to help a co-employee if s/he is having problem dealing with a customer? Oh right the bubble, it's better to give a deaf ear, and let your co-worker sinks her/himself into deep shit, you have to(!!!) restrain yourself from co-employees...
