Yeah. You don't want an AMD though.

Yes, yes I do

Have had AMD's for years , the only processor that ever gave me serious issues was an intel.

I'm loyal, mad loyal!

Lil worried about the heat with this set up, but the case has alot of good reviews in regards to air flow .

You should read some reviews written in the last several years about how badly Intel has destroyed AMD. There's not even a comparison anymore.

I've been reading tons of them, the biggest complaint I have with AMD is the socket changing bullshit.

I have to build two of them lol, one for myself and one for my son.

Warhammer online comes!!

If you have any further input on my build lemme know.

Order a little tube of Arctic Silver thermal compound - put a drop between the processor and the heat sink.

You might want to browse Newegg's case fans - a little exhaust blower below the graphics card can make a big difference in heat, and they're cheap. Mine was about $8, very quiet, and dropped the temp significantly.

Hehe, I was an AMD enthusiast as well, infact both of my machines are AMD (a S939 X2 3800+ and an AM2 X2 5200+), but I have to admit, the Intel processors are literally head and shoulders above them as it stands right now. AMD has been struggling to claw back it's market share from Intel.

The Intel Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quadro processors are a complete departure from the Pentium series and are way (WAY!) more efficient and powerful. It used to be that people went with AMD due to price, but even that isn't a factor anymore.

Do yourself a favor and get at least a Core 2 Duo. Quad cores are nice, but the difference isn't THAT much of a difference when it comes to games. They tend to shine for folks who do 3D and Video development, but even they've come down in price lately.

The case you've selected is one of the best and should serve you very well regardless with what you go with.

Sanchek just hates on AMD because they got so many of the Alpha engineers which made the Wimpy-tel chips so sadeuroface all through the nineties.

I'm a fan of ASUS boards myself. I love my Crosshair mobo.
