Oh. My. God. That was amazing.
I've played a lot of MMORPGs and RPGs and I have to say I've never quite had an experience like running the first instance in the Caverns of Time. Going back in time to a place of historical signifigance is a really novel concept to begin with, but it was even more novel to revisit not only one but really two or three world changing events (even just as a fly on the wall) and having an entire zone to explore all over again was great. I am gonna run the Black Morass tomorrow, I can't wait. **spoiler alert** For those of you not planning on doing this, I.E. you don't play Warcraft, basically there is 5 types of dragons in the world that protect different aspects of the world. One type (bronze) looks after time itself and there's some evil dragons that are fucking with the timeline. So they send you back in time to the zone you probably spent a good portion of your level 25 to 35 career in to rescue an orc who would later become the leader of the Horde. As you go along you witness the orcs being held in internment camps and being freed, as well as a lot of the bosses from an instance you visited as a level 35 (Scarlet Monestary) as fledling humans or in some cases, even as teenagers simply walking around. Seeing Herod as a teenager was funny, and bumping into Nat Pagle and watching that goblin build his bodyguard you probably repaired your gear on during the Tarren Mill PVP saga was great. Watching the creation of the Ashbringer and all of the various Scarlet Crusade bosses hanging out before they were corrupted very interesting. Also fun to see Kel'thuzad and all before he went evil. Even the tiny details of Stormguard Cheddar or whatever, knowing later that town will go to shit and that the Syndicate would take over different areas and getting all of the history was really neat. I never read the book about Thrall's escape, but now I want to. I know they planned on having a battleground in there, and there's always the possibility they'll add a 40 man instance, and the wide range of room they could go with this area is amazing. I've run most of the instances in Coilfang, Hellfire, etc and everything in the old world but nothing compared with how cool this outdoors instance was. |

Sadly, don't get your hopes up for Black Morass. It's neat, but small and doesn't even begin to compare to how cool the whole Hillsbrad deal is.
Old Southshore is awesome though. |

This sounds cool as hell and something I will look forward to as I continue to level and progress. I keep saying to myself how impressed I am with the attention to detail paid in this game. It's the little things that make me go wow they even thought of that.
I've been playing a bit more than casual lately and I find myself with now with a level 41 NE hunter and level 30 Tauren Shaman, and a level 31 Human Priest. I just can't figure out who I want to play though I'm leaning towards the hunter especially now that I'm in mail and have my kitty. I kick myself for not having given it a real chance the first two times I tried WoW. I've just finished up all my Scarlet Monastery stuff last week so yes it would be neat to see Herod as a teenager. I wear his helmet on my hunter, good stuff.

Black Morass was really fucking tough. 45 minute marathon fights are really rough on a mana user. You're right, not nearly as good as Hillsbrad, but was fun none the less.

You probably weren't all 70. At 70, it's trivial and you can push it down to about 25 minutes for a full run.
It's a damn fun challenge around 67/68 average level though. |

The Kara runs on opening day were some of the best WoW ever, when no one had wowwiki to ruin it with. We never made it past Aran with our PUG raid, but everything up to that was pure joy.

The first time we got Moroes going, 10 people at once on vent: "WHAT THE FUCK HE JUST VANISHED?!!!?" It was great. We took a 69 tank once. That was hilarious.
