M3 or M5 both current generation (not the next 05-06 models)
Both 6 speed. Which one would you get? |

I'm partial to my STI, but if I had to pick between the two I'd swing the M5.

If cash isn't an issue, the M5.
DAMN I wish M3's still came with 4 doors. |

They actually wind up being the same price (nearly) in the end.
I'm leaning towards the M5 as it has 4 doors, a big trunk etc. Not to mention a hefty V8. I think the next gen "M3" will include an M4 with four doors, that's rumored to be a 400hp V8. I'm not waiting around for that shit though, 2+ years till it hits the streets, 25k dealer mark up, and bound to be plagued with flaws during the first few years. |

I'm really not willing to spend that much cash on a car. If a, say, 3 year old 4 door M3 existed,it'd probably be within my price range.
I'll need a car for the wife (read: me most of the time) before 2 years. I need something fast. DAmmit.

This thread is out of my tax bracket....by alot
(US Military) If you can afford one new now, than wait a few months and get both Pre-Owned. Paying for a new car is stupid these days if you want a good deal. With the quality of them being up, along with the dealer mark up that gets depreciated once you take it off the lot, and all the bugs that new cars get, its best to buy a luxury car used. Of course if money is what you whipe your ass with when you use the toilet, then, whats the deal? You need help picking out a color? Just go buy it, drive it a few weeks until you get bored, and then drop another 50-100k into it to soup it up. If it was me, I would buy a new Mustang ( the new body style coming out) or a 2004 GTO..or an old muscle car and take the rest of that 50k left over and invest it in something more likely to yield a good positive return on investment. I am just an unsophisticated Redneck though, happily immune to the pressures of having a Hollywood address. |
